Hitachi has announced its new line of luxury LCD TVs at affordable prices. The new UltraVision series includes multiple screen sizes with 55, 46, and 42-inch sizes. Every set in the series has 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The sets also feature Hitachi's Reel120 smooth movie technology and up to eight HDMI interfaces.
The Alpha 42-inch and 32-inch screens each have four HDMI inputs among the seven total HD inputs offered. Two of the inputs are located on the side of the TV. I am of the opinion that at least three HDMI inputs should always be on the rear of a set.
The UltraVision line offers 42, 46, and 55-inch sets as well with 120Hz refresh rates and five HDMI ports. Pricing for the UltraVision line starts at $999 and goes up to $1799 with availability starting in June. The Alpha series sells for $499 for the 32-inch and $849 for the 42-inch starting this month.
