Okay, so Sony Ericsson has fallen on some hard times. In order to stay a major player in the mobile industry, Ericsson needs to turn their falling revenues and dipping stock price around pronto. Things look pretty dark for the once-great mobile manufacturer, but there is a ray of light at the end of the tunnel and its name is Satio (formerly known as Idou).
The Sony Ericsson Satio is one of the most impressive new smartphones coming down the pipeline right now. It's got a big 3.5” screen, an outstanding 12.1 megapixel camera, a WebKit web browser, video calling, handwriting recognition, a sound recorder, the S60 Symbian OS, and a whole slew of other features.
No price information has been announced yet, but the Satio is set to be released in Q4 of this year. As a bonus incentive, the Satio ships with an 8 GB memory card. We'll probably see this new smartphone marketed heavily as a big Christmas buy. Considering how buff the Satio is, we can probably expect it to end up being quite expensive. The camera alone is worth a big chunk of change.
