Alereon is one of the companies pushing wireless USB technology heavily. Many computer users have been waiting a long time for wireless USB to hit the market and it has still yet to do so. Despite the fact that Alereon's core wireless USB tech is still not widely used, the company is branching off into another product category that features wireless USB tech.

The company has announced that it will be showing off a new iPhone peripheral at Computex in Taipei next month for the iPhone and iPod. The product shown will be a peripheral reference design based on the new low power 90nm-LP AL5301 chip built using Samsung's 12-inch wafer facility in Korea.

The accessory is a small wireless USB peripheral that connects to the iPhone charge and sync port. Once connected the adapter provides extra power to the iPhone or iPod to allow more run time and allows the devices to sync to iTunes wirelessly. The company says that future versions will also allow the accessory to display photos and video on TV screens wirelessly as well.
