It's no secret that Sony's new PSP Go is one of the most hotly anticipated new reveals of E3 2009. Everyone and their mother is looking forward to getting their hands on this hot new gadget, and we at I4U News are no exception. While Sony won't be officially revealing the PSP Go until Tuesday, a whole mess of info on the new gaming handset has already hit the Internet. Here's a brief summary.
1. According to a video leaked this weekend, the PSP Go is said to have a 3.8” screen. It's also supposed to be 43% lighter than the previous model.
2. Despite its tiny size, the Go is going to pack a hefty 16 GB of flash memory.
3. Unlike the PSP-3000, all content on the Go is going to be 100% digital. That is why the Go won't need a UMD drive.
4. Because all content is digital, users will be able to download content (like games) straight to their PSP Go.
5. The PSP Go will go on sale first in Japan, around September, and we can expect a U.S. release in mid-October or early November.
6. The current industry buzz has the PSP GO selling for under $200, with the most likely price tag being $199.
So what new things are we going to see on Tuesday? I think most of Sony's PSP Go presentation is going to center around the gaming capabilities of the Go. We should see a demonstration of how quickly the new PSP will be able to download and play games. With any luck, we'll see a few video walkthroughs of new features posted online as well.Posted on Mon, 1 Jun 2009 10:00:00 CDT | by Robert Evans
