E3 News Coverage

Sony just announced the cost and release date of their new PSP Go, the "worst kept secret of E3". Little they announced was a surprise, thanks to early leaks, but now we know when the Go will hit and how much it will cost. We did learn a few new things about the Go, and here they are.

1. In addition to the 16 GB hard drive, there will also be a micromedia port for adding more memory in.

2. The 'sense me' application is a 12 tone melodic analyzer that will pick out an idea playlist for you based on your mood.

3. MediaGo launches today, which lets PSP owners download games, movies, TV, and other media through their PSP. They can also access the PlayStation Store.

3. The price of the PSP Tool Kits are going down by 80% to encourage more PSP developers.

5. A pink, glittery Hannah Montana PSP and gaming bundle has also been announced.

6. Grand Turismo PSP will be a full-sized Grand Turismo game, designed for the compact PSP.

7. Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker is coming out for the PSP Go. It is set 10 years after MGS3, set in the 1970s. It is a "true sequel" to the Metal Gear Franchise. The team and designer behind MGS4 will also be involved with this new game.

The graphics look great from what we can see in the trailer, and this looks like a wonderful Cold War era Metal Gear title. The creator of the Metal Gear series promises that this will be a true sequel to the franchise, but one that it will also take advantage of the unique features of the PSP.
