It is official Microsoft is launching Windows 7 on October 22nd.
So freeze your netbook and PC purchases right now and just get through the Summer on your old XP and Vista dog and then get a shiny new Windows 7 machine in October. Of course Microsoft and PC vendors do not want you to wait so they are going to offer the Windows 7 Upgrade Option Program. This program enables participating retailers and OEMs to offer a special deal to upgrade to Windows 7 for customers purchasing a qualifying PC before Windows 7 is out in October.
It will be interesting to see if Apple is announcing a release date for OS X Snow Leopard at the Apple WWDC 2009 on Monday. Does Apple want to beat the Windows 7 release date or do they want a confrontation.
Apparently confrontations are the thing to do these days. Just look at Palm's Pre launch two days ahead of the WWDC 2009 keynote where we expect to hear about a new iPhone.
