The only problem with the awesome Wii Classic Controller Pro is that you can't really get one outside of Japan. It fills a great gaming niche (some of us love old fashioned button-filled controllers), but there's never been enough demand in this country to make stepping up production worthwhile for Nintendo. At least not until now.
While wandering the floor at E3, Joystiq caught site of a pair of Classic Controller Pro's sitting around on display. When asked, none of the Nintendo employees had any idea why the controllers were there or what they meant. Nintendo didn't announce a U.S. release during their conference, but that doesn't really mean very much.
The mere presence of a pair of Pros at E3 has lead some to speculate that a U.S release must be imminent. Nintendo hasn't said a thing about expanding the Classic Controller market, but that won't stop us from hoping like crazy that they will.
