NEC has added a pair of new 24-inch LCD monitors to its line along with a new color calibration system called NEC SpectraView. The two LCDs are the LCD2490WUXi² and LCD2490W2-BK-SV. Both units share many of the same features.
Both have a 1900 x 1200 native resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 320 cd/m2 brightness, and 96.7% color gamut. Auto luminance control with X-Light Pro backlight sensor is included and the LCDs feature ColorComp technology to smooth variations in color.
IPS active matrix LCD panels are used for performance and wide viewing angles. The technology also provides realistic flesh tones and dark black levels. 12-bit internal lookup tables are supported for calibration and the LCDs are on swivel stands with tilt and pivot functions. The LCD2490WUXi will sell for $1099 and the LCD2490W2-BK-Sv will sell for $1299.
