Safari 4: 11 Million Downloads, 3 Days

The WWDC conference was only four days ago, and it's been just three days since the launch of Safari 4. In those 72 hours, Apple's newest version of the Safari web browser has been downloaded over 11 million times. Six million of those downloads were from Windows users, which makes Apple's feat all the more impressive.
Safari 4 has been such a success due in no small part to its Nitro engine, which allows the browser to load JavaScript significantly faster than Firefox or Internet Explorer 8. Apple's browser has a reputation for stability and speed, which is why it's done so well even among people who aren't Apple users. Sales of Safari 4 are only expected to increase when Snow Leopard hits next week, since the browser works as a 64 bit application in the Apple OS.
This is just the latest in a long line of recent victories for the Cupertino-based company. Despite the continuing recession and the difficulties it has caused the tech industry, Apple has continued to break revenue records and sell gadgets. The imminent release of the iPhone 3GS and the updated Snow Leopard are only going to continue this streak.
If you'd like to give it a shot, you can download Safari 4 for free from the Apple website.
