If the Pioneer in-dash nav device I talked about before was too rich for your blood, Pioneer has also announced a pair of slightly lower cost devices. The AVIC-X710BT and X910BT both offer many of the same features with turn-by-turn driving directions, audio, and video capability.
Maps for both units are provided by Tele Atlas and cover the US, Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii. Maps can be viewed in 2D and 3D modes. Highway signs are represented on the screen for easy navigation and the maps include 3D icons for major hotels and other stops.
The X910BT model has MSN Direct inside while the X710BT lacks that feature. Both units have a 5.8-inch touchscreen that can play digital music tracks and a USB interface for the iPod or other PMPs. An integrated SD card slot is featured as well. Both units also have the Pioneer Supertuner IIID AM/FM tuner and a 50 watt x 4 amp. The X710BT retails for $900 and the X910BT sells for $1100.
