It's no secret that the Pre is the last great hope for both Palm and Sprint. With the imminent release of the iPhone 3GS the pressure is definitely on Palm to find ways to keep sales up. According to Brighthand.com one big avenue of expansion for the Palm Pre may be Europe. Eastern-European distributor I.R.I.S has stated that the Pre will be coming to Europe before the end of September.
Cost, as always, will depend on the individual plans. For the Palm Pre alone I.R.I.S is looking at charging 400-500 Euros. That's for the unlocked phone with no contract.
The Pre is already set to be released in the U.K, Spain, and Latin America through the distributor Telefonica. Movistar will be carrying the Pre in all of those areas, and O2 will join them in the U.K.
I expect the Pre to do well in Europe, Spain, and Latin America. The 3GS is coming out on time in the U.K, and Pre sales there are likely to be commensurately lower as a result. The Pre will sell well in any country it reaches before the iPhone. How it will do in areas where it has to compete with the iPhone remains to be seen.
