Many existing iPhone 3G owners screamed very loud because of the $200 extra they would have to pay to get the iPhone 3G S.
Today AT&T issued an update to the iPhone 3G S upgrade policy. For a limited time AT&T offers iPhone 3G customers who are upgrade eligible in July, August, or September 2009 their best upgrade pricing for the iPhone 3G S, beginning Thursday, June 18th.
AT&T says if you want the new iPhone 3G S you should go to a store on Friday.
You may also preorder online on June 18th at AT&T, and your iPhone 3G S will arrive in 7 – 14 days. Or you can purchase iPhone 3G S at Apple's retail and online stores, as well as at other popular retailers.
If you are not falling into the new rules for upgrade you should still ask AT&T as you might qualify for the iPhone 3G S early upgrade price of $399 (16GB) or $499 (32GB).
