Did you buy an iPhone 3G between July and September 2008? Are you staring ruefully at your now-outdated smartphone and wishing like hell you could afford the exorbitant cost of buying an iPhone 3GS without a plan? Well we have some awesome news for you; AT&T has relented, and you'll now be able to upgrade your 3G for a reasonable price.
AT&T has just announced that they will be offering a special upgrade deal to people who purchased iPhone 3GS early. If you got your phone between July and September of last year you can upgrade it now for the same plan price as anyone else. $199 will buy you a 16GB iPhone 3GS, and $299 will get you a 32GB iPhone. Previously, upgrading your phone early cost $399 or $499 respectively.
'But wait,' I hear you cry, 'I already paid 500 bucks for an upgrade! What the hell?!'
Don't panic. AT&T will automatically refund the additional $200 dollars that you paid for the upgrade. Your cost will be automatically adjusted.
