It's no secret that the iPhone 3G S launch this weekend has been plagued with issues. So many new phones have sold that AT&T is having trouble keeping up with the demand. Many owners have already been warned that their phones could take up to 48 hours to activate, and now it looks like some customers will be have to wait even longer.
The iPhone blog posted a letter one of their fans received from Apple. In the letter, Apple apologized for the delay and warned him that it could take up to 48 hours longer to resolve the problem. That means that some unlucky customers are going to have to wait four whole days to get to use their new iPhones.
Obviously that's unacceptable, and Apple agrees. While the blunder is definitely on AT&T's end, Apple has decided it is their duty to make amends. In the letter on the iPhone blog the Cupertino-based company has promised to send out emails containing $30 in iTunes Store credit to their jilted customers.
Thirty bucks doesn't quite make up for four days of annoyance, but it's a really nice gesture, and one that should go a long way to dissociate Apple from AT&T in the minds of angry fans.
