Android fans, it won't be long now. The HTC Hero is very close to launch now. It's just been cleared by the Global Certification Forum, who were good enough to leak out a few choice tidbits about the Hero. The GCF's report on the Hero and it's sister phone the Lancaster says that both phones will feature a TouchFlo 3D UI. It also says that the Hero will come with support for quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 1800/2100 MHz.
This news comes just two days ahead of HTC's press event in London, where they are expected to formally announce both the Hero and the Lancaster smartphones. We should see the Hero released in London shortly thereafter, and a wider release (possibly) sometime during the Fall. We'll keep you updated when the big news hits on Wednesday.Posted on Mon, 22 Jun 2009 11:40:00 CDT | by Robert Evans
