Yesterday we reported on some rumors of a split between Apple and Nvidia due to the latter company's quality-control issues. We still haven't heard an official comment from Apple on any of this, but it looks like Nvidia has finally spoken up. Fudzilla spoke to industry sources “close to Nvidia”, who told them that their relationship with Apple was still going strong.

Apple's still buying Nvidia chips, and Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang apparently stated that he has a great deal of respect for the 'fuss maker' apple. As an aside, I really hope that was the actual term Jensen used.

MacRumors notes that, even if this means the relationship between Nvidia and Apple is healthy, we could still see a temporary end to Nvidia chipsets in Mac. Intel and Nvidia are currently in the midst of an argument over the licensing of Intel's Nehalem architecture. The results of that suit have the potential to effect Apple quite a bit, considering Nehalem is supposed to end up in Apple's mobile line very shortly.

The Fudzilla rumor seems much more accurate than the one we heard from Semi-Accurate yesterday. I tend to think there might have been a grain of truth to the old rumor, though. After all of the costly defects and this brouhaha with Intel, there's a chance Nvidia is getting on Apple's nerves. That said, unless we hear an announcement from Apple I'm going to assume that nothing has changed.
