Alright iPhone owners, I've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is, you won't be getting push notifications for your Facebook in the immediate future. The good news is, Facebook 3.0 is going to hit the iPhone soon!

Joe says he's about 98% done with the new app update, which will contain useful features like a new News Feed, the ability to RSVP events, notes, and the ability to create new photo albums and upload photos to them. You'll also be able to call or text people right from the friends page, and incoming phone calls will no longer delete a message you're in the process of typing out. Once you cancel the call the message will be restored just as it was.

Push notification won't quite make it into this update, but Joe did promise that we'll see Push enabled in 3.1. We've got no idea of when that will be, but hopefully we'll see something within the next month or to. I think most iPhone users would be fine downloading an update that just included Push for Facebook.
