Bayer has launched a new glucometer for kids with diabetes called the DIDGET that is designed to help kids learn good glucose monitoring habits. The meter is the first and only that connects to the Nintendo DS and DS Lite game systems.
Kids can unlock new game levels as they monitor their glucose levels and points awarded allow for the customization of game levels. The device is designed for kids ages 5 to 14 and connects to DIDGET World where kids can spend points.
The DIDGET meter comes with a game called Knock 'Em Downs: The World's Fair adventure game that also has several mini arcade games. An exact launch date for the meter is unavailable but Bayer says the launch will be soon.
