Apple To Offer Anti-Glare Mac Screens?

When the iPhone first came out, the whole world fell in love with its stylish glossy screen. People loved that screen so much that, two years ago, Apple decided to put glass-enclosed screens on all of their new Macs and MacBooks. For the most part their customers didn't seem to mind. The super-shiny screens render deeper blacks and brighter colors than people were used to, which made Macs seem even fancier as a result.
Some folks, however, dislike the glossy screens. In the sunlight, they throw off glare like nobody's business, which makes it very difficult for people with MacBooks to work outdoors. It also makes them inconvenient for road-trips or other such places where you need to minimize glare. Apple offers a $50 anti-glare option on the 17” MacBook Pro, but that isn't really a solution to the problem.
It seems that Apple is looking at extending its anti-glare option to 13” and 15” MacBooks as well. This still isn't a perfect solution, but at least it gives people who want a portable MacBook they can use outdoors an option besides dropping thousands of dollars on a 17” Pro. This new offer has yet to be confirmed, but we'll update you as soon as we know more.
