Barnes & Noble has announced that it will launch the world's largest eBookstore on its website at Bn.com. Customers will be able to purchase eBooks for a wide range of platforms including the iPhone and iPod touch.
The eBook store will also support Windows PCs and Mac computers. Barnes & Noble also announced that its bookstore would be the exclusive provider for the coming Plastic Logic eReader. It's not clear if the eBook store will support the Amazon Kindle or not.
The titles on sale in the bookstore will sell at $9.99 for new releases and best sellers. In all, there will be 700,000 titles available for purchase. More than half a million of those titles will be free public domain books from Google.
