The Garmin and Asus nuvifone models have hit Asia including the G60 and the m20. The devices will be on sale in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. Both the devices feature touchscreen displays along with full navigation features and location-based services.
The devices come preloaded with maps of North America, Europe, and specific Asia-Pacific regions. The maps reside on the device and users can get turn-by-turn driving directions without having to use the data plan for their device.
Other features of the devices include 3.5G data connectivity, SMS messaging, email, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more. The G60 is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE device operating at 850/900/1800/1900 and the M20 is a tri-band device with GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/2100. The G60 is Linux based and the M20 uses Windows Mobile 6.1. The phones will be coming to the US in the second half of the year.
