I4U reader Omar reminds us that the Firmware update that enables MP3 playback on the Sony VAIO Pocket VGF-AP1 (20GB) and VGF-AP1L (40GB) is due mid of December. Well today is exactly mid of December, but the firmware is not here yet.

Sony prepared a download page for the firmware update. Besides MP3 support the firmware update is also fixing some issues. In a report of the The Register, Sony talks about 30 improvements. Besides the VAIO Pocket the new Sony NW-HD3 will be Sony hard-drive players supporting MP3.
