EA announced today that the download-only game Battlefield 1943 is breaking sales records for the delivery format. The game became the fastest selling day one and week one download only game on the PlayStation network in North America.
Since the game launched on June 8 it has sold over 600,000 copies on the Xbox and the PS3. The game has two thrilling modes that allow players to compete against other players on maps that support 24 users.
The coral sea map is now unlocked for both platforms. It took the Xbox community 5 days to hit 43 million kills and the PlayStation community took 8 days to reach the same number. The Coral Sea map was unlocked when the kill mark was reached. The game sells for $15 or 1200MS points.
