As part of a bid to expand interest in their new eBook library, Barnes and Noble has signed an agreement with AT&T to offer free WiFi to their in-store customers. WiFi access also comes with free access to Barnes and Noble's eBook apps and library, which now stands at over 700,000 different titles, ranging from classic to contemporary.

Customers in-store will be able to download and preview any eBook title they wish, or read the full version of any one of the hundreds of thousands of public domain titles, courtesy of Google. B&N expects their library to expand to over 1,000,000 eBooks soon. Hopefully the rumors are true and Barnes and Noble are pushing more titles out in order to hit the one million mark before the release of Apple's iTablet.

This new WiFi service will also allow Barnes and Noble to do things like send messages to customers entering the store in order to inform them of book signings, send out coupons, or give book release information. You'll have to opt-in for these updates, but registering to receive them will allow B&N to personalize the messages to your reading preference.
