While the glossy screens of the MacBook Pro line are very popular with some people, not everyone is a fan. They can be annoying to use in bright sunlight, and some research even suggests that they might be unhealthy in certain situations. For quite a while, if you didn't want a glossy screen your only option was to get the expensive 17” MacBook Pro and upgrade to a matte screen for $50.
Now, according to AppleInsider, this anti-glare option is being extended to the 15” Pro line as well. Just pay an extra $50 when buying your MacBook and you'll be good to go with a much healthier screen. The 13” MacBook line still has only glossy screen options, but now that it is the 'odd man out', perhaps Apple will consider extending the option to it as well.
With all of the recent issues Apple's been having, it's nice to see that they still listen to their consumer base. The glossy MacBooks created a great deal of fuss, and even lead to several petitions being formed begging Apple to return to matte screens. It took Cupertino a while to fix this problem, but at least they dealt with it.
