Are you a big fan of the Palm Pre who doesn't want to switch over to the Sprint carrier? If so, we've got some good news for you today. A GSM, 3G enabled version of the Palm Pre has just been certified by WiFi.org, and could be coming to North America sometime very soon. According to PreCentral this does not necessarily mean that a GSM Pre will be hitting the US in the near future.

European Union and Vietnamese versions of the Pre have been cited as well, and one certification is for a Pre version that could work on either or both US and Canadian carriers. Given the limited funding that Palm has to release new versions of their phone, it's unlikely we'll see all of these hit at the same time.
