Today at Gamescom 2009 Sony unveiled a host of new games and advances to their PSP and PlayStation product lines. The biggest news of the day was definitely the announcement of the PlayStation 3 'Slim', available for pre-order now on Amazon.com. That wasn't all though, here's a summary of the big news.

PSP 'Minis': These are a new category of under 100 MB games developed exclusively for the PSP and PSP Go. The minis section of the PlayStation Store goes online on October 1st. Fifteen different games will be available at launch. For more information, check out the minis press release here.

New PSP Colors/Packs: Sony will be bringing out two new colors for the PSP this holiday season. In September, the Pearl White PSP will launch alongside Final Fantasy Dissidia. Sometime in “winter” Tekken 6 will come out alongside a special Piano Black PSP.

In October, the PSP Gran Turismo Edition will launch alongside (as if it wasn't obvious) Gran Turismo. Hannah Montana: Rock Out the Show will also launch alongside the Lilac Purple PSP. The Piano Black PSP will also hit stores along with FIFA 10.

In November, Turquoise Green (bundled with LittleBigPlanet) and Blossom Pink will be added to the PSP line-up. Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines and InviZimals will also launch alongside special Piano Black PSP releases of their own.

PlayStation Network Video Delivery: Folks in France, Germany, Spain, and the UK will get a treat this November. The video delivery service for the PlayStation Network is launching then, other markets will folow in 2010. This upgrade to the service allows users to download movies, as well as 'rent' and stream them to their PSP. Information on the titles available at launch can be found here.
