Joby makes several different adjustable tripod accessories for cameras and mobile phones. The company has announced a new flashlight called the Gorillatorch that uses the same flexible tripod device with the addition of magnetic feet.
The magnetic feet allow the user to attach the Gorillatorch to any metal surface and shed light on whatever they are doing without having to hold a flashlight in their hands. The adjustable stand will also allow the light to be sat on any horizontal surface as well.
The light uses LEDs with a maximum light output of 65 lumens. A built-in dimmer switch allows the user to extend battery life by dimming the light and the device is water resistant. Power comes from three AAA batteries and the battery life is 20 hours at max brightness, 50 hours at optimum, and 80 hours at economy setting. The Gorillatorch can be pre-ordered now.
