250 GB Sony PS3 Slim Coming?

Yesterday Sony announced officially the product we'd all been waiting for since before E3, the Sony PlayStation 3 Slim. The Slim is a cheaper, smaller, prettier version of the PS3, and you can get one with a 120 GB HD for only $299.99. That's a very reasonable price for a modern console, but if you're looking to pick up a Slim you might want to hold off for a little while.
Engadget has uncovered the patent information for the Slim, and they've learned some interesting things. It turns out the Slim was submitted to the FCC as a “Computer Entertainment System” made by Sand Dollar Enterprise, Inc, a fictional company with the same address as Sony. This was obviously a clever ruse to keep bloggers from uncovering proof of their new product before the show.
Those test documents reveal that the 120 GB Slim wasn't the only product that Sony had tested by the FCC. A 250 GB version, with the model number CECH-2001B, was also listed. That means that there very well could be a double-stuffed version of the Slim somewhere on the horizon. My prediction? Look forward to seeing a 250 GB Slim hit stores this Holiday season.
