As reported the Sony PS3 Slim was sold out on Amazon on the moved up launch day August 25th. Now the Amazon Sony PS3 Slim listing says that new stock is arriving already this Friday August 28th.

Yesterday the retailer still stated a 1-2 month wait. It is important for Sony to keep the supply up for the Sony PS3 Slim to compete with the Xbox 360 Elite, which is now also selling for $299.99 starting Friday.
All looks good now for Sony to get back into the battle for the lead in the console war. It will be interesting to see if the new low price of $299 really can activate a whole new large gamer segment for the PS3.
