Sprint's finally let the cat out of the bag. They've announced that the HTC Touch Pro2 will be joining their network on September 8, 2009. Users will be able to purchase the new smartphone from the Sprint website and telesales, as well as from in-store sales representatives.
Don't look for the Touch Pro2 to come cheap. It starts at $349.99 with a 2 year service agreement and a $100 mail-in rebate. That's around $450 out of pocket when you pick this baby up, so beware.
The Touch Pro2 has a 3.6" WVGA tilting touchscreen, a sliding QWERTY keyboard, Windows 6.1, and access to Sprint's very solid 3G network. Since this is a smartphone, you'll need to pick a data plan. Sprint's Simply Everything plan offers unlimited data and text messaging for $70/mo. Having to pay for text messages is a little annoying, especially with Google Voice available, but that's pretty much par for the course.
If Sprint is your carrier and you're in the market for a solid WinMo device, the Touch Pro2 is a good phone to go with. It is expensive, but Sprint does have an excellent 3G service. If any of you are looking at taking Sprint up on this offer, make sure to send us an email and let us know what you think of your purchase.
