The Apple rumors go into overdrive as we near this Wednesday September 9th when Apple will unveil the new iPod 2009 players.
The consensus so far is that we will see new iPod touch players with more capacity and a video camera. The iPod nano might also get a camera. There was a rumor that the iPod Classic would get a camera, but also a new rumor on Silicon Alley Insider that suggests Apple will kill off the classic iPod.
Sure the iPod Classic is not as hip as the iPod touch, but I think there are probably a large number of customers who still prefer a clickwheel. My guess is that Apple will keep the Classic for another year at least.
This week the Apple Media Event will show how the new iPod players will compete with the new Microsoft Zune HD. To beat the Zune HD not only with a camera, Apple would have to finally also use OLED screens in the iPod.
In any case the new 2009 iPods will be for certain one of the most wished for Christmas Gifts in 2009. More new iPod Rumors.
