We had the scoop that Fossil will introduce their new attempt on a Palm OS powered wristwatch at the CES 2005 already in November (unfortunatly we had to take it down).
Yesterday I held the Fossil Wrist PDA in my hands at the Digital Experience! show and Fossil also issued a official press-release. The new Fossil Wrist PDA features 8MB memory. The screen is a greyscale LCD with 160x160 pixels. The screen is of course a touch screen like on a real Palm. The mini-stylus is integrated in the wristband clasp. The Wrist PDA also has infra-red and USB connectivity. The battery lasts approx. for 3 to 4 days. The PDA Watch runs Palm OS 4.1 on a Dragonball Super VZ 66Mhz CPU. The Watch can be loaded with custom Palm OS programs, it comes with the usual PIM applications installed. The Fossil branded Wrist PDA (FX2008) is selling already at Fossil.com for $249. The lower priced Abacus brand Wrist PDA (AU5005) will be selling for $199.00 exclusively at The new Fossil Wrist PDA looks quite different to the model first introduced in 2003. The new version also has much more memory and runs a faster CPU. Also I do not think the first version had USB. I will report in more detail about the Fossil Wrist PDA after my interview with Fossil on Friday.
