Some of today's zeitgeist seems to be tablet-based. We've been hearing wild rumors about the questionably existent Apple iTablet all day, and now it looks like Archos is going to launch a new tablet themselves. At least, Engadget thinks it's likely.
They note that the Archos Store is down for maintenance. When that happens to an online retailer, it often means they're going through and adding in a new product. Rumors have flown for a while that Archos would launch a new Android-based tablet on the 15th, and now it looks like they were correct.
By way of quick recap, the new Archos Android tablet is said to be a 5" Internet tablet with access to the AppsLib app store (built by Archos for high-end Android gadgets). This tablet will have OpenGL Graphics support, HDMI output, up to 500 GB of storage, 7 hours of video-playback battery life, HSUPA data radio, and an OMAP3440 processor. Prices are expected to start at $294. We'll see where everything really stands in just a little while.
