Are you looking to try out a smartphone for the first time? Do you want it to be an Android? Then you could do a lot worse than grabbing T-Mobile's G1. According to TmoNews the price of a G1 has just dropped to $129, putting it barely above AT&T's iPhone 3G. If you like the look of this deal, you can learn more over at T-Mobile's store.
I've owned a G1 for the last year, and on the whole I've been extremely happy with my phone. It browses quickly, the touchscreen is very responsive, and the keyboard is easy to use. That said, I would caution new G1 buyers of one thing; This smartphone is obsolete, in a way that the iPhone 3G isn't. It is quite possible that the G1 will be unable to handle any future Android updates. Be aware of this before you buy.
That little blemish aside, the G1 is a fine phone and this is a good price to buy it at. If you want a simple, functional smartphone with a -great- OS, this is a good time to buy.
