The Nintendo Wii is now pretty expensive compared to what you get for your money when you buy an Xbox 360 or Sony PS3. It is obviously time for Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii console to stay competitive.
Ads from Wal-Mart, ToysRUs and Target have leaked in recent days that show the Nintendo Wii priced at $199.99 according to Kotaku.
It is expected that Nintendo will make a Wii price-cut announcement next week during TGS 2009.
A price of under $200 will bring the Wii back to match the price of the cheapest Xbox 360.
Along with the Wii price-cut we should also see an announcement for a Black Wii console for the US market from Nintendo soon.
What I really would like to see though is a Wii HD. A Wii with full HD resolution would put tremendous pressure on the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360, because the Wii is still the only motion controlled console on the market. Sony and Microsoft are still just promising it for 2010.
