Toshiba's just announced a new high-end gaming laptop, the awkwardly named Qosmio X500. This new laptop is built to be a multimedia/gaming workhorse, and it has the specs to carry out that role well. Under its hood the Qosmio is powered by an Intel Core i7 quad core processor. It'll come loaded up with Windows 7, as well as Intel's TurboBoost technology (makes the cores run faster if the machine is operating at low power).
The Qosmio's have varying amounts of DDR3 system memory, dual HD configuration options, and Nvidia GeForce GTS 250M graphics (1GB video memory). Certain models will be sold with integrated Blu-ray drives. All Qosmio's have 18.4" screens, as well as harman/kardon speakers and integrated HDMI-CEC ports.
Detailed specifications, as well as pricing information will be available on Oct. 13. Until then, we'll just have to stare at the press shots and drool a little bit.
