Best Buy's mobile phone selling section known as Best Buy mobile has announced a new cloud-based service called mIQ. The service is web-based and helps customers manage and engage with mobile content and smartphone features. The service will launch free on October 12th.
mIQ allows users to take information that they capture on the mobile phone and access it from a web interface on any computer. The free service allows users to access contacts, text messages, calendar events, calls, photos, videos, and phone settings.
These things are seamlessly uploaded to the mIQ service so that they are backed up. The service makes it easy to restore a device should you get a new phone or upgrade. Text messages are also organized into a conversation view like an IM session. The service offers 1GB of storage and will work with Blackberry, Windows Mobile, and Symbian S60 operating systems.
