Satellite radio is going personal and portable this year. First there was the XM2Go Delphi MyFi that works with the XM satellite radio service.
Now Xact (known for its wristwatch Walkie Talkies) showed the XTR1 portable plug&play satellite receiver that works with the Sirius satellite radio.
Xact had a big booth at the CES 2005 showing of the XTR1 SIRIUS Satellite Receiver with lots of accessories like a boombox.
The Xact XTR1 starts at $99.99 (compare prices now), which is a lot cheaper than the Delphi MyFi (compare prices now). The reason is that the XACT XTR1 is only plug&play meaning it needs a host system in the car or at home to play music. It is not a portable player per-se like the myFi. Additionally Einem's Shady 45 Channel is on Sirius not on XM.
The Xact XTR1 sells at Amazon.com for $99.99.
