Some of the details of the new super-slim Sony VAIO X notebook leaked earlier, but now Sony officially lists the Sony VAIO X Windows 7 notebook on SonyStyle in all its glory.
Sony says the new VAIO X Series notebook is the world's lightest notebook weighing 1.6 pounds. The question to discuss though is if the VAIO X is actually a notebook and not an expensive netbook as it runs on an Intel Atom Processor Z550 (2GHz).
The Sony VAIO X measures 10.95" (W) x 0.55" (H) x 7.29" (D).
Other features of the Sony VAIO X include 11.1-inch LED backlit screen, 2GB RAM, 128GB/64GB SSD, GPS, Verizon 3G, Bluetooth, Wifi, and motion-eye camera.
The Sony VAIO Signature Collection X (VPCX115KX/N) is available in black and in a bling bling gold color for $1499.99.
The normal Sony VAIO X VPCX111KX/B starts at $1,299.99. See more photos of the VAIO X here.
The announcements of new Windows 7 notebooks have just begun. Hold on to your hat as many more Windows 7 computers will be announced over the next couple of weeks leading up the the Windows 7 launch on October 22nd.
