HP has announced several new computers recently and among them are a pair of new and cheap Compaq systems. The new computers include the Compaq Presario CQ61z and the Presario 4010f desktop. The notebook has the HP piano black imprint finish with a silver panel for the palm rest and touchpad. The screen is a 15.6-inch HD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Power for the notebook comes from a six-cell battery. I'm not sure what CPU is included in the notebook, but it won’t be a high-end unit considering the machine sells for $399 after a $100 instant rebate good from October 18th to December 19th.
The Presario 4010f desktop uses an AMD Sempron CPU, NVIDIA integrated graphics, and a 250Gb HDD and is priced at $309. Compaq also unveiled the 500B desktop PCs for business looking for lower price machines. The unit comes in AMD or Intel versions starting at $359 for AMD power and $409 for Intel. All of the machines are set to ship with Windows 7 on October 22nd.
