Acer launched new Windows 7 hardware this week. Yesterday Acer announced, amongst other hardware, the Acer Aspire 5738PG. Here we report about the Acer 5738DG, which is actually a 3D notebook.
Acer announced their new 3D technology called Acer 3D CineReal technology comprised of special coated displays, polarized glasses and triDef 3D Experience software already, you can read about it here.
The Acer Aspire 5738DG notebook is the first Acer computer to use this technology.
UK's PC Pro already had a chance for some hands-on time with the Acer Aspire 5738DG. Quote: "It works well. I watched a number of nice-looking demos where futuristic planes flew through futuristic landscapes..., There are drawbacks. You need to have your head positioned carefully to see the 3D effects without ghosting – where every object seems to have the slightest of shadows – and you do look a bit of a fool."

I am not sure if this 3D notebook is going to catch on. I would rather see the future in autostereo displays that do not require glasses, which have been around since 2004, but are still pricey.

Update: Acer 5738DG 3D Notebook official and on Sale.
