The BlackBerry Storm has some issues. It's been panned by many critics, and users alike for it's slow speed, buggy nature, and sub-par touchscreen. For a phone that was supposed to bring RIM back into the winner's circle, the Storm was pretty much a complete failure. Fortunately, it looks like RIM has fixed the major problems of the Storm, just in time to release the vastly superior Storm 2.
If you're one of the folks who bought a Storm and immediately regretted it, you could be about to get restitution. PhoneArena reports that there is a firmware update en route to you right now. This update will make the Storm and Storm 2 "practically identical" when it comes to software.
It's not quite as good as a credit or a free upgrade, but at least it's something. This update should enable flick scrolling, tabbed browsing, and threaded texting. Aside from WiFi, multitouch, those plastic buttons, and a sleeker frame, the Storm will now be identical to the Storm 2. What say you, Storm owners? Is a firmware update enough to earn your forgiveness?
