Proving once more that "information security" is about as realistic a goal as establishing a colony on the sun, Boy Genius has received a whole bunch of leaked news pertaining to T-Mobile's project dark. A tipster sent them photos of several pieces of paper labelled, "Don't Open Until 10/25". The papers contained detailed info about several new T-Mo plans, which we've included below;
First off we have new individual plans. Signing up for these does not require a 2 year commitment. 500 minutes costs $30, and adding unlimited texting to that adds another $10. Putting unlimited web on top of THAT brings the total to $60/month. 1000 minutes starts at $40, with $50 for unlimited text and $70 for text+web. Unlimited talk on its own is $50, unlimited text is another $10, and unlimited everything is $80.
Family plans start with two lines, and require a two year commitment. You can get 750 minutes for $60, add unlimited texting to that for an additional $20, and add unlimited web to that for a total of $140. 1500 minutes costs just $80, adding unlimited text raises that to $100, and dropping unlimited web on top of that brings it to $160. Unlimited family minutes cost only $100/month, with another $20 for unlimited text and $180 total for unlimited everything.
Who knows if these new prices will be enough to rescue T-Mo from their current financial straits. A deal like this can't possibly hurt, though. If T-Mo can start bringing in some more impressive smartphones (hint hint, Xperia X3, hint hint) they might have a shot at turning things around.
