Nikon unveiled the new low-light DSLR monster Nikon D3s a week ago. Canon revealed their competing Canon Eos 1D Mark IV this week. Both new DSLR Cameras are selling for around 5k.
Gizmodo took the Nikon D3s (pre-production model) to the circus and published some beautiful low-light photos taken with the D3s.
The sample photos also include a series of shots that just differ in ISO setting. The paparazzi will love these new ISO capabilities.
The 12.1MP Nikon D3s builds on the Nikon D3 and delivers ISO 200 to ISO 12800 as standard, with the noise control and wide dynamic range that the D3 offered. ISO sensitivity can be expanded on the Nikon D3s from Lo 1 (ISO 100 equivalent) up to Hi 3 (ISO 102400 equivalent), making a significant difference in extremely low-lit shooting scenarios and other situations where faster shutter speeds or more depth of field is required.
The Nikon D3s incorporates HD-quality video recording (D-Movie function), letting users take full advantage of the wide dynamic range and high ISO performance, including the breakthrough High-Sensitivity Movie mode.
