The Apple Tablet is still the most rumored next new Apple product. Apple rumors are a hot topic around the world. Today a report from the Australian The Sydney Morning Herald (via Techmeme) makes its rounds as it claims that Apple has shown the Apple Tablet to Australian media companies.

To be exact the report says that "Apple has sent specifications of the Apple Tablet to Australian media companies in an effort to sound out whether they would be interested in delivering their content to the tablet."
I am not sure how Apple handles this outreach to the media companies. I assume they only provide very limited information to avoid early leaks of the new mystery Apple product.
The more eReaders become common the more the rumors are to be believed that the Apple Tablet is mostly about books and magazines and possibly also comics.
If Apple is first to present a usable and affordable color ebook reader in a magazine format, Apple could strike gold again.
