Bridgestone, maker's of the world's first e-paper, are doing their part to make the world a little bit more cyberpunk. They announced today that they have developed a 13.1” touch sensitive piece of e-paper. This new e-paper is capable of displaying 4,096 colors and can refresh entirely in 0.8 seconds. Tech-On reports that the device is capable of communicating with some sort of handheld gadget, possibly even a smartphone.
The e-paper is currently being tested by liason officers at Kansai Urban Banking Corp. This e-paper has some integrated security functions and is just 5.88 mm thick. One step closer to an all e-paper e-reader, everybody!
