The cool Touchscreen Rubik's Cube appeared earlier this year at the Toy Fair 2009. Now premier gadget shop Hammacher Schlemmer sells the Touchscreen Rubik's Cube for $149.95.
The Touchscreen Rubik's Cube also known as Rubik's TouchCube is a hot Christmas gift for kids, but also for grown-ups who lived through the first Rubik's cube hype 30 years ago.
Instead of turning each face of the cube to line up colors, you only lightly swipe a section of lights with a finger in the same manner as the original. Touch sensors on all sides detect your finger and a motion detecting accelerometer determines which face is active.
The colors on the touchscreen Rubik's cube change according to the direction of your finger's swipe.
Its built-in memory saves your puzzle so you can pick up where you left off. It can offer hints, or if you are truly exasperated, it can solve itself (I like this feature!).
The Touchscreen Rubik's Cube recharges in eight hours using its display stand, allowing one hour of play.
Buy the Touchscreen Rubik's Cube now on Hammacher.
