Tachyon has been offering rugged helmet cams for a long time now for people who like to film themselves doing extreme sports or other activities where a normal camera would simply not withstand the punishment. Tachyon has announced a new camera called the XC micro.
The new camera has the same features as the larger 2010 XC helmet cam in a smaller package. The XC Micro can accept a variety of microSDHC cards from 4GB to 32GB in capacity. The camera mounting system allows it to fit on goggles, helmets, sporting equipment, dashboards, and other locations.
Features of the camera include a high-dynamic image sensor with a 90-degree wide-angle lens. The battery system in the camera is a pair of AAA batteries good for four hours of recording. The batteries are in a shock resistant camera. The camera is available for $99.99 until the end of November shipped no later than December 12th. The normal price for the cam will be $129.99.
