Verizon Wireless launched the Motorola Droid Android 2.0 smartphone today. The Verizon Online store offers a cool user interface for purchasing the Droid, but it costs you $199.99. I just saw on the Sears site that they sell the Droid with contract for only $149.99 because of a $50 instant discount for new Verizon Wireless customers.
The Droid is the new flagship smartphone offered by Verizon Wireless. Verizon is actively pushing the Droid as an iPhone killer. In my opinion these are very different phones. If you like a keyboard and want to be first to use the cool new Google navigation software the new Droid is for you. And of course you get the praised Verizon Wireless network.
Update:
The $149.99 deal on the Droid is also available on Wirefly. Sears' wireless shop and Wirefly are both powered by Simplexity.
